Issue Position: Preservation of Natural Resources and Landmarks

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2015

Georgia is the most beautiful state in the nation. We have it all; majestic mountains, sunny seashore, open farm land, abundant forests, historic landmarks, and sophisticated metropolitan living. I appreciate what we have in Southwest Georgia and will fight to preserve our natural resources, our heritage, historic landmarks, and lifestyle. Our water supply is one of our most vital resource and our long-term plans must include equitable water management and creative new programs. I look forward to working on legislation that will address all of these issues. I support common-sense environmental policies that will help to reduce pollution while preserving our precious open spaces. I realize that without action now, future generations will be left to clean up the mess we leave. I oppose a national cap and trade program because of the law's inequities with foreign counties and because of the higher costs that families and businesses would incur.
